He Reached Down Into My Darkness

My Redeemer's Love. This song has been running through my head today like a train's tracks running through the valley. It's based on Romans 8:37-39, which says:  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. This pretty much means nothing. No government. No enemy. No uncertain future. No distorted relationship. No suffering marriage. No culture war. No distant teen's hatred. No life disappointment. No … [Read more...]

Bon appétit, bébé! {Favorite Products and Resources}

Welcome back! If you are just joining us, you can read the rest of the posts in this series here: Bon appétit, bébé! Today we’re going to talk about some of my absolute favorite things when it comes to feeding Baby (and some of the equipment you need may very well be in your kitchen cabinets already!). I’ve tried several different products and narrowed it down to the following, which fell into the “I can’t live without them” category. Making Baby Food During the season when I was making food for the babies, I quickly learned that purees weren’t always necessary and it oftentimes took me a step further in preparation. But I did enjoy making a few purees and for those I simply needed the … [Read more...]

My Little M&Ms

Like any mom, I've got a million nicknames for my kiddos. Some crop up more often than others - like Noah's "Animal" nickname. Some were from birth - like Emma's "Froggy" nickname. And others are based on personality traits - like Makenna's "Silly Girl" nickname. Still others are embarrassing and will be saved for the future. =) And recently I've gotten a lot of questions about where my references to "M&Ms" has come from. So I'll explain: Makenna = M Noah = N Emma = Em Or M, N, Em. My little MNEms. And no. We actually didn't plan this. =) But I love that it turned out this way. I think nicknames are a fun way of communicating love for our children and our interpretation of … [Read more...]

TruKid Sunscreen {giveaway}

It's June and, here in Florida, that means summertime is in full swing. Between our frequent thunderstorms, it gets h-o-t! And humid. And sunny. And while some sun is actually very beneficial and necessary, protection is also a great idea. Recently, though, I became aware of how many toxins are in commercial sunscreens. It's pretty disturbing and, at the very least, disgusting (they want us to put that on our babies?!). Most of the sunscreens on the market today actually block the good rays from Mr. Sun, as well as the bad ones. They coat our skin with ingredients that actually mess with the hormones in our bodies (say what?!). Sunscreens also keep our bodies from absorbing … [Read more...]

Conscious Box {review}

It's pretty much one of my favorite things - getting packages in the mail. I mean, who doesn't love Christmas-time with lots of boxes being delivered? And all those mini-Christmases all throughout the year? My babies know how much I love the Big Brown Truck and that I beg the driver (from inside my home, don't worry) to stop at our house next. Opening the door to find a package (who cares if it's just wipes!) is so super fun. So when I was asked to review Conscious Box I thought about it for all of two seconds. Conscious Box is a wonderful way to try out the best natural and eco-friendly products on the market right now. With everything vying for our attention, sometimes it's tough to … [Read more...]

Easter Weekend

I've always loved Easter and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I love remembering His incredible sacrifice for us on Good Friday, and His triumph over the grave three days later. I grew up knowing it was a celebration of "more than just fun baskets." My parents did a wonderful job teaching us the true meaning of Easter. And I am so grateful.But we also had lots of fun with Easter! I can't tell you how many times we found "lost" Easter eggs in the backyard...months afterwards. Or how many bunnies or birds we got at the end of a treasure hunt over the years. Or the Easter cakes and crafts we made. Or how many times we've gone through the Easter eggs that tell the Resurrection … [Read more...]

Our New Wheels – Radio Flyer Triple Play Wagon

It's here! It's here! It's here! Our new Radio Flyer Triple Play Wagon arrived the other day and I could hardly wait to get the babies in it! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read about my stroller addiction here.) And it really is fantastic! I love that the babies are engaged with what we're doing now. In the strollers they tend to sit back and zone out (which is not always a bad thing =). But in this they sit up, look around, laugh, play, hit and fight (of course!) and point and chatter. I also love that we fit on the sidewalk now! I never would have imagined that'd be a plus for kids' wheels but it is! I don't have to watch for traffic; though when crossing the street they … [Read more...]

Product Review – Local Organic Moms

What’s up, ladies?? Ok, so the guys can listen in, too! But since we are the ones usually meal-planning, grocery-shopping and meal-making…listen up, girls! If you’re in the Orlando area, life just got easier for you…well, it’s about to! Not too long ago a friend alerted me to the company Local Organic Moms (heretofore referred to as LOMs…hey, all the cool people do!). It’s a produce delivery company and I thought, “Ok how is this one different than the others I’ve checked into? C’mon, wow me!” And they did. First off, their website is pretty. I’m all about advertising and good marketing when the product is good. I’m impressed because it conveys a lot of thought and attention to detail. I … [Read more...]

Ohhh, I LoveLoveLove The HairBow Company

I have lost count of the number of times I've been asked where I get the girls' cute tutus and all their pretty hair bows! The answer? The HairBow Company. I am a sucker for having my girls match but finding and buying two outfits that do is often incredibly difficult. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to get cute hair bows and headbands, too! The HairBow Company sells many of their items in bulk and offers a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge variety of items (leg warmers, flower clips, hats, marabou, rompers, ribbons, etc.). When I came across their website, I realized they were selling those adorable crochet headbands for about $0.33 apiece! So I may have bought a couple...dozen. And when I saw the … [Read more...]
